In the course of our buying rough gem materials we often come across items which are too "cool" to be cut into finished gemstones.  They may show really nice crystal faces or cool inclusions or be more interesting just left as nature intended.   Many people want the organic look and feel of crystals in their raw form.  If you have requests for certain items please contact us...we may well have it..but have not had the time to list it here.

Good specimen crystal lot of Tourmaline. Bluey green to green to dark green. 65 cts total weight and 10 pieces 9mm to 17mm long. Translucent but not for cutting From Zambia we have two nicely terminated Citrine crystals. 77 cts total weight and 30 to 35 x12mm . Amethyst crystal lot from Nigeria. 8 pieces with total weight of 141 cts. Mixed as shown with some inclusions, zoning and medium colour. Two Spinel crystals form Vietnam. Weigh total of 30.35 cts and measure roughly 10x8 to 18x10. One is blue the other red. Show some crystal habit but no transparency. Some good lustre on some crystal faces. Nicely shaped and terminated crystal from Pakistan. Is very light pink in colour and has good transparency but some natural feathers and inclusions. 18X18X11 mm and weighs 63.58 cts. Light Aquamarine crystals from Shigar, Scardu in Northern Pakistan. Good golden colour and some areas of transparency. Two large well shaped and terminated Citrine crystals from Zambia. Weigh 77.16cts toal and measure approx 35 x10x10 mm. Quite transparent but do have some natural inclusions. Lemony colour. Lovely unusual Tourmaline crystal. Weighs 22.68 cts and measures 24x9x6mm. It has three individual terminated crystals that have grown together. Colour shifts from deep green to mid to white. Good transparency few inclusions. This is a distorted octahedral Diamond crystal from Argyle mine in Western Australia. Very hard to get these Diamond crystals..took me ages to find a direct supplier. Weighs 5.19 cts and measures11x8.5x5.5 mm. Some translucency. Great colour Aquamarine crystals from Brazil. Full terminations on tips and nice transparency. One has intergrown internal terminated crystal. Few internal inclusions feathers etc but great specimens. 22mm long to 5-8mm wide. From Australian Sapphire fields in Queensland we have 5 pieces of DARK Sapphire rough with combined weight of 275 cts. Good for specimens but do show some colour round edges when held up to light. Weighs 160 grams and measures 60mm high by 30 by 27mm. Opaque but good shape and a nice specimen. Beautiful terminated Aqua crystal from Nigeria. 50mm by 8mm x6mm . Lovely blue green colour and is a collector. Has very good transparency. Edges are a little abraded but generally excellent condition with just a few small exterior chips. Beautiful specimen of Dioptase crystals on Calcite. Acquired 40 years ago..The Tsumeb mine is located in Namibia and closed down production in 1996. These measure on average 10 by 12mm and have multiple small Ruby crystals together in a matrix. Good to illustrate how they form and grow together. Large champagne coloured Topaz crystal from Pakistan/Afghanistan area. Beautifully terminated showing crystallography- habit very well. Weighs 409 cts and measures 28mm high, 35 by 35 width. Lots of inclusions but transparent. 11.08 cts of Sri Lankan natural Sapphire crystals. 4 pieces as shown from 10x4 mm to 13.5 by 7. All show good crystal shape and are translucent to transparent. Shows good lustre and a dark blue colour. Rough star affect from reflected zoning patterns . 208.20 cts total. Large is 30mm across. Nicely shaped and terminated White Topaz crystal from Brazil. Weighs 169 cts and measures 30 mm high by 25 x18mm. Reasonable transparency but shows lots of inclusions and feathers etc plus has couple of basal cleavages. 9 pieces of Australian Sapphire from Lava Plains in Queensland. Total weight of 533 cts. Most show crystal habit and structure but no transparency and very little colour ..mostly black..couldnt dig em up for this price. Some small areas of transparency. One rare Pink . Average size is 20x7x10 mm. Huge Aqua crystal from India. Measures 12.5 by 2.5 CM and weighs in at 190 grams. Good dark blue colour and nice hexagonal crystal shape but opaque…can see a little translucency around edges. Multi Aqua crystal plate with some small mica leaves.  About 10cm by 8cm with height of 4cm.  The Aqua crystals are milky light greenish blue (non transparent.  Most have good termination and crystal shape.    Sells for cost. 2 Aquamarine crystals 4cm by 3.5cm wide good termination at top good to better transparency at 60%.  Smaller is 1cm deep by 2.5 wide intact at bottom of crystal where it goes into mica but broken off at top. 10X8X8 CM overall CM241 $NZ 65.00 CM242 $NZ 40.00 CM231 $NZ 125.00 CM232 $NZ 145.00         Lovely Blue Sapphire crystal from Ratnapura in Sri Lanka. 30.46 cts and 32mm long by 7 by 10 and shows excellent crystal habit with 3 intergrown crystals branching off. One tip has been fractured but great overall shape and colour 61.69 carats weight on these two Sapphire crystals from Sri Lanka. One is Blue and measures 25mm long and other is a neutral coloured measuring 30mm in length. Neutral is mostly intact with good shape. Blue has parts missing. Extremely nice Aquamarine floater crystal. Weighs 107.63 cts and measures 48 x25 x20mm. Could look at this for hours. Lovely etched crystaline faces all over this piece and has great lustre. Nicely shaped but weather worn Peridot crystals on a matrix. Measures 31mm long by 21 wide by 15mm high. From Gilgit in Pakistan. There are some that are faceting grade but we are calling them crystal grade since unlikely that anyone would want to facet them. Mix of transparent to opaque. Dioptase specimen from Tsumeb in South West Africa (Namibia). 50mm long by 16 wide by 20mm tall .  Lustrous transparent green crystals from 1mm to 7mm. Crystals on Calcite and host rock matrix.  Rare and very collectible!!! Large Dioptase specimen from Tsumeb mine in S.W. Africa. Mine has been closed for many years..this is why specimens are so sought after. 70mm long by 60mm wide by 45mm high. Top grade specimen. Lovely, lovely!! Extremely nice well shaped terminated crystal from Nigeria. Measure 50mm long by 12mm in diameter and shows good colour shift from pink to white to light to dark green. Range of colours but mostly Pink with some translucency..Approx 60 pieces give or take. 145 cts and range from 3or 4 mm up to 12mm . Two nicely shaped sections of crystal of Golden beryl. These both show excellent colour and good hexagonal crystal shape. Transparent but with lots of natural inclusions. Smaller is 14 by 7.7mm. Good specimen of Peridot from Pakistan. Weighs 113 cts and measures 30 by 30mm with a depth/height of 12mm. Crystals show good terminations and colour is good with medium transparency. Surfaces are weatherworn Nice specimen from Brazil of Aquamarine crystals in a matrix. Main crystal is terminated well and has a medium transparency with greeny blue colour. 35x25 by 50mm high. Difficult to tell how clean it is but looks like it will be ok for faceting but will have small inclusions.normal for Spessartite. 40 plus pieces of Garnet Crystals from Gilgit in Pakistan. Weight is over 300cts and sizes range from 2 to 18cts approximately. Good value and all show some red translucency and have crystal faces and symmetry. 50 grams (250 carats) of peridot rough gem material. Some is suitable for faceting small (up to 4mm round) but consider as a specimen ,crystal lot. Excellent value and has mostly translucent/transparent good colour pieces. Good medium plus grade of Citrine rough suitable for faceting. Average weight per piece is 0.3 to 0.5 gram. Expected sizes will be up to 5mm round but most will be 4mm. Could be faceted and you will make money but a bit of a shame to cut such a lovely piece. 25.39 cts and 51mm long by 8mm in diameter. Olivey green tourmaline faceting grade good size rough 52.93carats. 4 rough pieces only. ( NOTE >>the faceted piece is not included but is there to show what you will get when cut). Not top grade but clean and usuable. Beautifully formed twinned Sapphire crystal from Ratnapura in Sri Lanka. Weighs 65.36 cts and one crystal is 28mm high and other is 23mm. White with translucent interior and well terminated. Dioptase specimen from Tsumeb in South West Africa (Namibia). 30mm wide by 20 by 22 high.  Lustrous transparent green crystals from 1mm to 7mm. Well terminated and a light blue colour with some transparency. From Pakistan and measures 30 x 25mm with a height of 40mm approx.
